Yep, same here--alive and semi-sort of kicking. With the economy the way it is, my family are having to work extra hours, &c., so I've been watching my nieces more & more over the past 4-6 weeks. I usually watched them from 8 or 9 AM 'til 6ish at night 4-5 days a week, but lately that's been more like 7 or 8 AM until 9 or 10 at night. Until I forget which day last week I'd had them really for a couple weeks here, and logging on to anything, this board, my email, Facebook, whatever, really wasn't easy, but I use TweetDeck with Twitter so I can leave that up and whenever I get a chance toss our 140 character worth of nonsense--plus I use it to hunt down the news articles I want to read so at least I save some time scanning the various agencies (I'm a big news junkie). Have to say, though, miss the board and really hope you got that missing phone sorted out. I can understand "borrowing" or "liberating" food to feed a family, but to me a phone is still a luxury (then again I still use a land-line--watched that Gene Hackman movie "The Conversation" once too often maybe. So how's that for being long-winded? Seriously, just saw my nieces off less than an hour ago and might not have them tomorrow so I'm feeling spry (plus got positive lab results from doc on Fri--yippie!)

I'm still alive and kicking...ok...I'm still alive...lol! I've been attempting to investigate a stolen cell phone (not mine, I don't have any cell phone). My friend's 16 yr old daughter (the one I've mentioned on the message board at times) had her cell phone stolen recently and because I set it up for her, I have access to the account. There has been activity on the phone since it was stolen and from the look of the activity (as well as the phone numbers texted and called) I suspect it was her older lazy brother (the one that lived here for a while and stole my credit card numbers). I may call some of the phone numbers that have been texted and inform them that the person texting them from that phone is using a stolen cell phone. Part of the problem is that if there are extra charges the phone company might bill them to me because my name and address are on the cell phone account (it's a GoPhone so this is not likely, but has been known to happen).

Did I just get long winded...or what? LOL!

Same here--any of 'em named Brewster, Cooke or Warren? Its an interesting group of folks--you can say all you want about Magna Carta or the Declaration of Independence, Rousseau, Common Sense, &c., but the Compact was the first time that all the men, regardless of position in the community from the Elders & Gov. down to the laborers put pen to paper and agreed to support each other. Kinda humbling. Cheers!

Actually, my family had ancestors on the Mayflower! How's that for being original...lol.

Wow, you're originally from MA? (BTW, you spelled it right). My mom's family originally came from MA, CT & RI--200 years in NE, 100 years in PA, 100 years in NY. I just happened to have been born in CO because my grandpa, along with my mom, were working for IBM in Boulder. Kinda neat, I think, but then I also found that cloud to be pretty neat ...ooh, and that one ...and that one! (self-deprecating humour, huh?) Cheers, WhyYou (hope you're doing well)

I can empathize, WhyYou, with your plight. Last Sept. my brother built a P4 1.5 ghz PC for me. It crapped out last week. Ker-plooey. So I'm back using my previous Celeron 800 while setting aside the funds to build myself a fresh computer, not from spare parts this time. The silly thing is, I may not be using it much more than 9 mos to a year, but then my niece will have a nice surprise waiting for her, just in time for middle school Anyway, glad to see you back, and hope you get caught up with your own schoolwork soon! Always the best to you!
