Oh, and for what its worth, while I love my veggies, I have a big weakness for roast beef, top or bottom sirloin (aka tri-tip) with mashed potatoes & corn, or ham with candied gravy & peas--moderation though & balance, that's what I need to remember. I'm not a big fan of poultry or fowl myself, although growing up in Colorado Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter were often filled with all sorts of interesting things, ranging from chicken or turkey to roasts, to ham an on to pheasant, venison and here in Nevada there's a butcher just a few blocks away that brings in moose, buffalo (makes good burgers) and other things, a lot of which I have no desire to try. Don;t remember what my point was, but now I'm hungry ... Have a great day!

I can understand why you like Idioteque. The first time I listened to it, it was jarring to me, but I gave it another shot and started listening to it and there is something about the patterns that I do find fascinating. People used to think I was nuts because my favourite Doors album was The Soft Parade because of all the tempo and style changes (why didn't I like Morrision Hotel more? they'd ask). I do like pushing the limits, especially my own, so I'll probably give Idiotque another listen to today just to see what new I hear in there. Oh, and with your diet/workout, there was something else I wanted to mention. Sometimes when you're hungry, it isn't so much "hunger" but a "quest for flavour" that you're feeling. You could be pretty well full, but your brain doesn't think so, so one trick I found out about was to drink something with a strong taste to it to knock some sense into my brain. For me, that means drinking a hot cup of mint tea, sometimes peppermint, sometimes spearmint. It usually works, and is basically no calorie, no fat but full of flavour. Sometimes a glass of Calistoga or Perrier with lime & ice does the trick, too, and you get some of the electrolytes you need, without the corn syrup or sugar in a lot of sports drinks. More food for thought. Have a great day

Idioteque will always be my favorite Radiohead song. I don't know what it is that draws me so much to it, but it does. I've bought a lot of fruits and veggies so that will definitely make a big part of my diet. But I am a meat girl...so I will always need steak or beef jerky (not a big fan of chicken though.)

Hey there--I watched some of your update videos (besides my birthday one, which was a lovely thing for you to do--thanks again), and wanted to add my admiration for your cover drawing--I wish I had that talent with charcoal, pen & ink or pencil-or anything else. Rob, I take it was the artist?, is fantastic in yet another medium. What an eye! I also watched your "back from the Gym" video and have had lots of time the past few ays to think about diet, health & so on, and may I suggest swimming if you don't already? Back when I swam, it was normal for us to wear multiple suits, little Speedos layered under baggy trunks, pantyhose, t-shirts and without caps, anything to up the drag and give us a great, hard workout before stripping down to just Speedos, a cap and shaving our legs, guys and girls, for speed. We'd also swim "lifeguard style" with our heads out of the water for something like 10 minutes plus tread water for a good 15 to 20 minutes, if I remember the amount of time right (this was all before you were even born, which makes me feel pretty old right now! ha ha). Also, with your diet I assume your trainer's stressed fruits & veggies--great for more than one thing. Since they're full of water, you get filled up quicker than if you eat denser food like meats, dairy, &c., plus you get more vitamins & fiber which are good, and less fat. I think when I was taking cultural anthro or MesoAmerican antho I learned that some fruits/veggies supplied the body with all the amino acids it needs to build proteins and were easier for the body to break down (used less energy) than meats--corn, squash & beans had complimentary amino acids, if I remember that right. Oh, and chili peppers were packed with citric acid which drives the mitochondria and powers the cells. Just food for thought--I'm not sure if the pun's intended, but there you have it anyway . Oh, I listened to Idioteque a couple times the past few days--not quite my style, but I can see what you see in it, and for me it is something cool simply because it is so different from what I normally listen to, whether Radiohead or anyone else. Kinda like U2 back a decade ago with Zooropa, or Thompson Twins when I was a kid or maybe even some of the Talking Heads, ELO or Boston, all of whom pushed the envelope a bit before tech became more mainstream. Anyway, part of me liked listening to Kid A again, but given a choice, I'd still listen to Pablo Honey first (like you said, I forget where here, the first time is the strongest--you were talking about your first public nudity shoot though, but I think it applies elsewhere, too). Cheers--have a great day

Back yet again (I've been on/off all day for a couple sec's each time--hectic, so hectic I thought today was Thurs, not Fri). Anyway, the video was really nice. I know I said it comes in #3, but nothing comes ahead of my nieces, so if you want to look at it another way, yours is #1 because it was a surprise to me that you'd take the time (I am very flattered BTW--Ha! Just figured out what that means the other day). Everything else is more "obligatory," this wasn't so a really big thank you, Danielle. You gave me a big smile (and made me blush, too!)

Thanks most kindly for the cute video, Danielle. Its one of the best presents I got today--#3, right behind watching Scooby with my little niece all morning and getting a big hug from my elder niece. Cheers to you!

Aye, it is, thanks for asking. I did get an email from Chris earlier, too, which was pretty cool, and an email from that relative in the UK, the genealogist, too. So far, I've spent the day with my little niece watching Scooby-Doo. My other niece is in school until 4, and after that I expect I'll be helping her with her math, if she needs it (she's really, really good at math--she's learning powers right now, something I didn't get until 6th grade, maybe 7th, but she's in 5th--what a brain she has!), and if not helping her on math, I know she has a spelling test tomorrow (another thing she's very good at--her first spelling test of the year she got an A on without studying--I think she missed one out of something like 20 words). Thanks again for checking on the b'day!

    Cheers

    Hola, Danielle--

Find out what your family knows and I'll dig. You might also want to check out what I have at Roots already (its a portion of my master database) to see if any of the names you have are names I've already done some work on. No guarantees, but its rare that I either don't find a connection back to England for someone, or at least find kinships to others here in the US. Oh, and again to clarify, Gates, Hewlett, Packard & Berners-Lee are all related to each other. (Berner's Lee, though English, has Canadian and New England ancestors, too). Like I've said, what a big, wide, weird world! Slan--

Actually part of the family does live in the southeast. Not sure where. But I can find out.
