Hi Ugo, I just read your messages of the past couple weeks. I am sorry its taken me so long to throw you my support (I haven't been around very much). I am sorry that that former co-worker of yours confronted you, but am glad, I suppose, that it was in a public setting where other people could see his bad behaviour and for the police to get involved. I hope he winds up with a little time in jail, a very big fine and lots of time to think about his actions and behaviour as he serves the community to repay his debt (do you have court-ordered community service in Italy as we do here in the US?). Anyway, the important thing is that you and your gentlewoman friend are both okay after such an ordeal. Keep your chin up, my friend! !!!

Hi, Ugo, sorry I didn't realize you had answered so quickly the other day. New Years here happened 19 hours, 37 minutes ago (I think I did my math right). I don't usually do much--I was asleep by about 10PM last night, and then did the laundry today. I spent most of the day, however, trying to rest. My energy has been ebbing a lot lately, maybe because my nieces have been in California visiting relatives for the past week (I miss them). Most of the time I watch them, and so when they're with me, I'm always "Uncle Silly," whether I want to be or not. When I don't have them, I go to my more natural state or try to just decompress and spend a lot of time letting the things that bother me drift away (hence me advice to you, even though it doesn't always work even for me). To be honest, days like these I'd much rather be at the Shambhala Center at Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, near where I used to camp at least 1 weekend every season, winter included (Sometimes we'd even use a sled on skis to get to the campsite over the snow). I am hoping that this year will bring you and everyone else more peace of mind and contentment of body, both at home with our families and at work. Take care of yourself, my friend--peace!

Don't leave to condition you from what life can happen while it is drawing near the new year (me In Italy being waiting for the year in 5 exact hours while I am writing to You. It's to you when time you wait for the new year? ).

You enjoy the good health and the happy life of your darlings. When there is a family that from a lot of heat the man is always happy. Instead I am forced to difficult problems of my mother and of different my people. But however I can always be serene and happy when Christmas arrives.

I have now understood well the saying Buddhist. Is really truth, friend Geo. But I have always tried to win and to pretend of nothing against those people that live on their egoism and incapability to live and to respect. And I have always tried to estrange from them. But those and the rest of the system Administration they also do to ruin the operation of the job of as it is had to behave well with the public.

I would not like to be heavy to say so many things. But I'm not defeated. And we see as the things they also go to the year 2009.

And hoping to enjoy here with all of you to the site of Danielle. Something that serves me to fight indeed the sadness of an unbelievable life.

The Buddhist saying means that when life is throwing so much ill wind in your direction, don't fight it, but instead let it just swirl around you. Maybe a better saying is "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Take the bad that's around you, and make it into something useful, or at the very least just leave those co-workers to their little games they're playing on you. In time, you will be the one left standing, and they'll be shown for the foolish little children they are. I know, too, that words are easy to say than to live (I have bouts with diverticulitis and pancreatitis brought on in part at least by those around me). All I can do is to close me eyes, take deep breaths and try and let the stresses that would overwhelm me slip away as much as I can, like opening the valve on a teapot about to explode. Anyway, personally I'm not looking for anything more than maintaining the status quo next year--I gave up the dream of a new year equaling a fresh start for myself long, long ago, but most sincerely hope that this new year will bring a fresh start for you, for Danielle, and for everyone else.

Hi there, Ugo--a happy New Year to you, too! I was sorry to see you'd been indisposed and in hospital a short time ago. I sincerely hope you are feeling better now. Believe me, I can empathize! I just noticed your new avatar--really neat, Ugo! Now we all can see what, or who, is on your mind! Seriously though, be the willow and bend in the winds of unkindness that swirl around you, rather than the oak that gets toppled over and broken. Its something from an old Buddhist saying (I think) that I keep in mind every day. Stay true, Ugo, my friend!

    Hi Ugo--

I could do with a little warmth here. I'm in northwest Nevada, just a little northeast of Lake Tahoe (the lake is about a 40 minute drive from here). I used to live in the San Francisco Bay area where the weather was much nicer. Right now its very cold here; we had snow falling yesterday and the night before, and it warmed up a little today, so some that melted has frozen on the ground and there are a lot of icicles hanging (the ones on my roof are nearly 2 feet long already!). But I have warm clothes, and I like the snow, and, best of all, I get to wear my mulkuks! Anyway, I have to head out to watch my nieces while my brother & sister-in-law go out for a little bit. Until later, Ugo, cheers!
