Any Monty Python Or Fawlty Towers fans out there? Love the dead parrot sketch.

All but 1 of the jobs I had as a teen were at pet shops. Oddly, we could never get the Norwegian Blue parrot in. Must have been too popular after M Python. Not surprising really--very quiet, doesn't eat or drink much (or at all), but very lovely, much like a museum specimen... :p

And as for Basil Fawlty, I have learned that jumping about wildly, shaking your fist at the sky is a great way to relieve stress! (But I have a terrible fear of Canadian moose heads now ...)

Check out the joke thread Captnjack and anyone who likes Monty Python.:D

Texasdrake 08-21-2009 09:22 PM

It's my alltime favourite sketch as well. Shame they don't make comedy like that anymore.

I love British comedy and especially Monty Python! John Cleese played some of the funniest characters on that show. In addition to the store clerk in the "Parrott" sketch, he was the village idiot (My brain hurts!!), and the "Minister of Silly Walks". Cleese was also great in Monty Python and the Holy Grail too, which he also co-wrote. Who can forget the "Black Knight" ("It's only a scratch!!" "Come back here, I'll bite your legs off!") and that smarmy French guard ("I fart in your general direction").

Could be, could be ...I know I'm always pining for those fjords. Lovely birds, too... the Scandinavian women I mean! :p

Yesterday i had the most insane experience in my local supermarket. I actually got thrown out by security:eek:. There i am going down one of the isles with my shopping trolly, then a woman steps backwards just as i'm about to pass her and i hit her leg. Of cause i apologise immediately even though in my opinion it wasn't my fault, as i had right of way lol. Anyway she apologised to me and we both laughed. So i carry on and towards me in a hurry was this guy who looked a little angry. It was her boyfriend or husband as he gets closer i noticed he's got his right hand clenched to a fist. So i knew something was up and i was right. "you hit my girl you bastard!" he screams, i thought wtf! of cause by now i'm ready for him lol. He throws a poor punch at me, i avoid the punch and grab the arm so now i've got him in a armlock. Just as a security guy comes around the isle. He shouts at me to let him go, i said only when he calms down. The guys still swearing at me to let him go. Another security guy turn up and i'm now thinking, this is just getting crazy so i let him go then one of the security guys steps between me and this angry guy. Then tells us both to calm down, i was very calm because if i wasn't i would have hit back lol. So in the end i was escorted out of the supermarket. To be honest i was laughing at how stupid it was, luckly that isn't the only supermarket here lol. so the moral here guys, is be very careful with your shopping trollies and drive safe lol. Anyone else had any kind of similar crazy shopping experience? lol.:D

captnjack 08-29-2009 09:19 PM

Well not lately anyway! The boyfriend was probably just angry thinking that you were trying to put the move on his girlfriend!

Texasdrake 08-29-2009 11:13 PM

Sounds to me like the boyfriend is the ultimate *******. looks like anyone of the male sex would have to keep a wide area between them and the girl.
if i was in your shoes I wouldn't have acted so calm.Would have told the guy to take a flying leap into the nearest dung pile. :D

mart 08-31-2009 08:33 AM

That guy must have had a screw loose. Guess some guys can be way over protective with their partners. Which in a way is good, but to throw a fist at a total stranger without even asking what i was doing was a bit over the top. I mean i could have just been asking her where the cereal isle was. I was fortunate, i hope no other guy talks to this poor girl:eek:. I hope i see him again one day just to ask what his problem was. Hopefully he was a local lad, so i could meet him again. I'm still actually annoyed at his stupidity.

Immortal 08-31-2009 09:13 PM

Wow Mart, sounds like this guy was a real dick! I can't say i ever had an experience like that, but if i did i know how it would have ended. ( I have been known to have "Anger issues" in the past.) I hope you never run into him again, just let it rest. No point in going to jail over some insecure Dick Head!:D

mart 09-01-2009 05:40 PM

Your right Immortal, i hope i don't bump into him again. But it does bug me as what the hell was wrong with him. I do have a violent past, which i hope will never come back. I was actually pleased with myself at how i handled it and not to lose my temper. A few years back i would have beaten him to a pulp, thankfully those days have passed. Somehow i'm able to control my anger better. I must be getting older and wiser lol.

Apetpatobut 09-10-2009 06:38 PM

What's up Guys

I am excited to learn here. It appears to be a
fantastic place!

I'm into playing playing volleyball.

Any others here?

What do you spend your time on?

mart 09-11-2009 06:13 PM

Welcome to Danielle's forum Apetpatobut!.:)
Well the only sporting hobby i have is golf and more golf lol. I usually play once a week in the summer after work with a couple of work mates and the odd Saturday afternoon, when we can book it. I'm just your average hit and hope player lol. My only claim to fame is, i actually got a hole-in-hole. The only problem with getting a hole-in-one is it cost you a fortunes in drinks at the clubhouse lol, but worth it.;)

Immortal 09-12-2009 07:52 PM

Welcome to the forum Apetpatobut!
For me it's music, that's what i do. I play guitar, bass and key's. I'm a "fill in" guitarist for a local metal band who's main guitarist is going through some issues right now. I got to play last night and we have a gig tonight as well. I do enjoy it a lot! My home business keeps me rather busy so i can't take the job full time but i would love to.

Immortal 09-18-2009 05:51 PM

PayPal!

Don't use PayPal! they will rip you off! I was warned but i used paypal anyway, and now they have $1130.00 of my money and are refusing to turn it over to me! I had paypal for 3 years with no problems untill now.
Over the last 3 days there was a spike in sale's through my online store and now they say "You can't use paypal for this product you have" They want me to CLOSE my store front before they release my funds. IS THAT EVEN LEGAL?!

I know i'm ranting but i am soooooo stressed out over this! The products i sell are LEGAL! How can they do this??!! What do i do? I'm getting my lawyer on this one!

Thanks for letting me get that out, now i just want to punch a hole in something!

mart 09-18-2009 09:21 PM

I had a Paypal account for years till they shut it down a few years back all cause I was dumb enough to allow a friend to use it.Since after a certain time you can get a Paypal card whiuch can be use at ATMs it was cheaper to send money though them instead of using western Union and spend money sending it.
Yeah paypal is so ANAL about what can be done with your account they would shut it down in a heart beat for the dumbest things. My friend needed her Nicotine fix and had a friend send her money so she could buy cigarettes. The guy was stupid enough to put "For Cigarettes" in the header and Paypal thought I was selling Cigarettes online though them.So of course they shut it down even after they said to get in touch with them to clear up the matter.
The dumbest part is I started up another Paypal account the other week... ONLY cause I sometimes buy stuff on Ebay and almost all perferred you use Paypal to send them the money. If it wasn't for that I would have told Paypal to take the Stick out of thier arses and stop shutting down accounts over the dumbest things. Most likely they a "God like" complex like the WalMart people and think they can do as they please and people will bow down to them.

Immortal 09-20-2009 12:23 AM

Much better day today. I got my money from paypal and now when someone uses CC in my store it gets billed to my email address.
HA, screw you paypal!!:D I guess they don't like you making too much money at one time. ($1,609.00 in three days.)

I was up till 4am emailing customers and letting them know all is fine but i still feel like i was "Kicked in the nuts" by paypal. That said, PAYPAL CAN BITE ME!!!:D:cool:

mart 09-21-2009 03:54 AM

Happy to hear that Immortal,:)

mart 09-26-2009 09:20 AM

Bit gutted today, last night my old Sony screen finally packed up. Just bought a new LG screen save size as my old one. Which is 17in i did have a 21in on trial but found it way too big. Anyone here use a large screen? or is 17in about the average most people use nowadays, just curious as what size your screens are.:)

Texasdrake 09-26-2009 02:08 PM

I forgotten how big mine is.Close as I can figure its about 17 inches. luckly it was the "Perfect" size due it barely fit in the area on my computer desk that was set for a monitor. The monitor had builted in speakers so the screen could have a been a few inches wider without the speakers.I would think with a 21 inches you would have to be a hardcore gamer who wanted the extra area for thier gaming experience or someone who can see thier monitor from across the room. :D

Oh just had a second and best thought for a 21 inch monitor...SUPER SIZE Danielle photos and videos.Best reason for a bigger monitor. :D :D :D

I use dual w/laptop 17"...23" main screen..:)

Anoree 09-26-2009 07:57 PM

At my main computer I've got a 22" widescreen. Great to watch Danielle's and Rob's videos and photos.:D
It's also great if you need two windows open at once, like the forum and a question list. ;)

mart 09-27-2009 11:11 AM

Good point Texasdrake, viewing Danielle or any FTV beauties would be even better on a larger screen lol.:D
That's just being greedy, but clever DWM222.:D
I occasionally open more than one window Anoree and i have to shrink the pages a little. I like large screens my tv is 38in even though i hardly watch anything on it. I'm usually too busy being online lol. But for the computer for some reason i find 17in a perfect size.;)

TheDoctor 09-27-2009 04:51 PM

 My TV (purchased 1990, in use since early 1998)) is 21" and my (one) desktop monitor (2005) is 12". LOL...

Texasdrake 09-27-2009 05:44 PM

If I could afford and had the space and can figure how to do it. I would have a 52" screen so I can view Danielle and the other FTV girls in Humongus size...then yu would never see me step foot outside my apartment again. Then I would need to find a computer base at home job so I always Danielle within a few strokes away.....Key strokes. ;)

Well they do say, big is beautiful Texasdrake. But think of your eyesight.:D

captnjack 09-27-2009 08:09 PM

I have a Samsung 21.6" widescreen flat panel. The 8000 kbs really look great on it.

As they say everything in Texas is BIG. (LOL)
If I had a 52 inch T.V with Danielle's sweet figure plastered across the screen..I wouldn't be sitting so close that I would go blind. :D

(LOL) something that size would never fit in my apartment.I would have to watch it outside across the street. With that one you can see a LIFE SIZE Danielle and all the other FTV girls. You wouldn't want to leave your house if you had Danielle on that screen. (LOL)
