I am a purist when it comes to transmissions, there are many other sports cars that are better such as a BMW M3, and a Honda S2000, which are both offered in a fully manual transmission, and both get much better fuel economy. I will not buy any car without fully manual transmission, unless it is free to fuel.

Manuals are fun but the truth of the matter is the SMG trans (the one's you can get in your M3's) are actually faster. They are truly developed from F1 racing and there is no way you can actually depress the clutch and shift as fast as you can with the SMG's. I've driven both and I can easily pull away from the best driver of a M3 manual with the SMG. And you can let the girls drive it by putting it in auto mode ;) And as far as fuel economy goes its negligible the differences now, not like the old days.

This is my current daily driver:

http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...600_wallpa.jpg

But I've been looking for another 1997-2001 Mercedes 600SL as a weekend driver. But I'd prefer one with the AMG Rims and Body Styling. I loved that car and preferred the old body style to the new one.

I'd LOVE a mint condition one of these:

'06 Altima SE R. Pretty hot little rocket for a supposed 4-door family sedan....

Max 05-30-2010 05:34 AM

I'm still rethinking this Honda Civic that I might get. I hear you can hit 5th gear going about 40, that is when you should be shifting into 4th. Another problem is when you get onto the interstate, your engine is going really fast, and you are out of gears. I'm not entirely sure what I'll get when I get a car, but I am still 100% sure that it will have manual transmission. I might want to go with something like an Accord, I've heard that the engine has a lower speed on the interstate. An Altima might be another possibility, because Nissan makes great transmissions. I really look at the transmission before anything else, because a good engine doesn't really mean anything if it is built on an automatic transmission, or a bad manual transmission.

Well it just sounds like you have a trnsmission fetish Max!, there's more to a car than the transmission!, like the colour!.:D

Color doesn't really matter to me, I just take what they've got if it's used, or I'll make a logical choice if it's new. The color of a used car is a silly reason not to buy it.

I have a 1985 Panasonic Sport 500 10 speed bicycle. I guess its officially an antique now being 25 years old, but its my favorite means of transportation.

I had a bicycle once, but it only lasted about 10 years. would have lasted longer if it hadn't got run over by a van lol. Luckly i wasn't riding it at the time. Yep it was my fault in a way, it had one of them sidebars that you could keep it upright against the kerb, but the damn wind blew it over just as the guy was parking in reverse, according to a passer-by. The frame was too buckled to straighten out, shame it was a nice raleigh racer.

Currently: Chicago Transit Authority (I mainly take the bus)
Often: I rent cars on weekends I go visit my family in Detroit. I've been addicted to the Charger lately, though I want to try the Camaro.
Originally: I had a black 1996 Chevy Corsica that lasted me five and a half years and 230,000 miles. It only gave up the ghost when someone I loaned it to got into an accident with it.

well guys this was the care I used to drive untill yestureday, (Tuesday 16th-Nov-2010) when it set on fire while I was driving:

Anoree 11-17-2010 12:39 PM

Woha, that looks as if it can't be repaired.

Seriously, I hope you got out of the burning car unharmed.
I'm also sorry for your loss and hope your insurance covers it.

Thanks for the kind words.

As for the insurance, as I was telling them what happend, they said, that they will try and fix it firsts, as people always think it's worse than it is, I looked at the pic I took, and laught at them, about 4 hours later I got a Phone call saying it can't be fixed and they will pay me out, I was like no sh*t it can't be fixed.

Also there was 4 other cars damage in the fire, I was giving the reg numbers for them, and my insurance said as it was an acident, they wouldn't be paying and would be up to the owners of the other cars to sort out, this to me is just wrong, this is also one of the other reasons why I pay for insureance, for damage to other cars as well, I feel so sorry for the other people.

I noticed at least one other car got damaged: Burn marks and broken window on the car back in the middle of the photo.
I think the other owners' insurances will come up for that, as the damage is neither their nor your fault.

I hope they do, cos like I said that would really suck for the other drivers :(

Well i guess as long as you got out unharmed, that's the main thing. Obviously the cars beyond repair, what's known in England as a write-off and the insurance company should pay out for a write-off.
