okay, but what about percentage? have previous girls won by almost twice the number of votes as previous models or has it been a closer race?

well, i guess if i am reading the number correctly. last years top two models were separated by only TWO votes. so it was a close race until the end. the top three all had 4% of the votes and third place lost by a little over 100 votes (114). this years lead if almost 2-1 between first and second place. and even if more people voted, the numbers don't lie

Well, Danielle has an advantage in that she is one of the house models (is that the proper term?), so she gets a lot more exposure and attention than the other girls. You get to chat with her, but not the other girls, and familiarity is going to get votes. Allison had a similar commanding lead when she won the 2005 vote (allthough far fewer people voted back then). Keep in mind that in the July vote Danielle placed between Alexa and Lauren (who kept roughly the same ratio they had back in July - 1.50 and 1.53 respectively), so her increased popularity has come since then.
It's interesting though that after Danielle the next 4 girls (Leslie, Zeba, Alexa and Ileana) are pretty close together, followed by a big gap to the next group. The biggest win from previous years was Carli in 2006, with a 1.80 ratio over the second placed girl. |
