Holy sh*t, life imitates art...this was an episode of "Lie to Me" last season...

This is the first time an hiv scare is really concerning to me, normally the outbreak is with a small porn actor that doesnt shoot a lot or doesnt shoot with people who have big names and shoot a lot. This time there are quite a number of big names under quarantine so its really scary to think how many people they have worked with... scary stuff I wish this whole industry could be forced to wear condoms even though the viewers hate it... I guess porn is above the law because technically that is a law in california. I wish everyone the best...

To be honest as far as B/G porn goes even with condoms being worn, which I believe quite a lot of the big name stars insisted on, as soon as the money shot arrives the condom came off and then the point of wearing it was totally defeated, ie "exchange of bodily fluids", however you wish to interpret that, eg facial, oral, creampie or whatever.
This could be a VERY serious blow to that side of the hardcore industry imho. |
Do more Girl on Girl instead!
Bummer for some but here's a solution while we wait for results.
Just do more Lesbian porn instead! ;) Hope Lia is OK though and not directly or indirectly affected. Guess we won't be seeing any new stuff from VIVID for some time then. :( I look forward to 'Where the Boys Aren't 21? or is it 22? Who knows. Oh and 'Strap on Sally' whatever number they are at and other countless Sapphic encounters. Oh and 'Lia's Second Time' perhaps? And....action Lia! |

Might cost the industry and the performers an untold fortune but surely there's enough material about "in the can" that they could do a self imposed moratorium on ANY filming of any B/G, G/G and B/B (for that matter) for 60 days to get EVERYONE tested and cleared, quarantined or whatever. Maybe I am being a bit naive in my understanding of hardcore porn, but maybe it NEEDS to slow everything down just a bit and stop being a "churn" factory, where Product A is the same as Product B and C, just dressed (or undressed) differently.

And this is all cos they didn't use a condom, and this could have been solved if they did. |
I have to agree with enigma2. A person can get tested today and be free of any viruses. Then, they have sex with someone the next day and get something. The original person might not get tested again for several weeks but they are still out there infecting others.

The problem is more with corruption and people who know they are positive potentially taking steps to conceal that. I'm curious about the effect it will have on performers though, if studios shut down for a period, there is no work for them and they have bills to pay (not to mention other needs). Probably a lot of them will end up doing escort if they can't dance. |
Has anyone figured out or has the name been released on who the male performer was that tested positive?
I feel bad for anyone involved. Hopefully, some of the studios will institute a regular testing policy that won't cost the performers any money. Either way, prevention does need to be stepped up - especially for those who do escorting on the side. Hopefully for all of us this moratorium won't last too long... |
