It's in deed a day of joy for Germany, Europe and the world. Freedom finally prevailed.
Our re-unification is still an ongoing process, though. We're still working on smoothing out the different conditions in Germany.

This day of joy has a bitter taste to it, too. 71 years ago was Kristallnacht, the night when the Nazis began their open raid on the Jews.
We should remember that, too, so it doesn't ever happen again, anywhere.
