Hey Dani,
Since you are investing in gear, don't neglect to invest in learning how to use it well! I just ran across a wonderful book which does a great job of covering digital videography basics today, titled The Digital Filmmaking Handbook: The definitive guide to digital filmmaking (2014). One can buy a copy for the Kindle for a bargain price of barely ten bucks here. It seems to be just the sort of thing you'd want to read at this stage in your directing/producing career.
