not true my clutch is hydraulic it is easer to push than my car is. We usaly only use the clutch when stoping or starting, a truck trans in not cencrinized like a car, the rpms and speed have to be right or it dont go in clutch or no clutch. Dumping the clutch will tear up the trans. Quick. Over heating the trans is the cause of most falure. They will get over 300 deg pulling a hill if you try to do it in too high a gear. Dot regulations from way back state it should not take more than 15 lbs to depres the clutch.
