Mine is the final name of my band. We had several names before Plankton, but for some reason, that one was my favorite, so I use it from time to time on websites.

Mine is just metal, but with 3 Ts (mostly because of the musical genre). I've had it from when I first got AOL back in like 1993 or 94.

Yes Enigma it has to do with ham radio. I have a long standing interest in short wave listening and amateur radio. DX is the radio abbreviation for long distance and a DX hound is a ham radio operator who specialises in making contact with stations far away or in exotic locations which are rarely on the air.
Your name is sort of connected with the radio hobby as well. There is a group of enthusiasts called Enigma which stands for European Numbers Information Gathering and Monitoring Association which of course was inspired by the Enigma machine. They monitor transmissions of groups of coded numbers which are broadcast on short wave for spies operating abroad. Used to be very common during the Cold War but surprisingly is still used a lot by various governments including the US. Using a system called a one time pad these codes are apparently unbreakable. As for everything else under the sun there is lots of information on Google about amateur radio, short wave listening, numbers stations etc if anyone is interested. |
