awh I see it is in Virigina that explains a lot! Va is the only state that I know of where radar detectors are illegal!

Radar detectors and other tools to avoid speed cameras are illegal in Germany, too, but I don't think an arrest like that would ever be possible here.

Why would you have speed cameras when there are no speed limits? To catch people driving too slow?

We do have speed limits. Only on our highways, the "Autobahn" you are free to drive as fast as you want - in theory. In fact, almost half of the network has speed limits. Trucks and cars with trailers have general speed limits, too. The growing traffic does it's own to slow you down.

On the other hand, you are only allowed to enter the Autobahn with vehicles which can drive faster than 60 km/h (37 mph). So, yes, you can drive too slow.
