Thumbs up I like detailed explanations

Hey CK1,

I asked to be your "friend" on Myspace.

The sites I am specifically concerned with are : myspace, facebook, THIS site, Classmates.com, Plentyoffish.com, and snapfish.com.

ALL have boxes to check for "remember me" but none of them work for ME. I use both IE and AOL for my browsers and my user name/passwords are not saved after I "check" the boxes. I don't mind the passwords not being saved but I get tired of entering my user names on each site visit.

that is strange. it is possible that one of your programs (maybe even your anti-virus) is deleting some of your cookies because it does not recognize them as valid cookies. the problems is that there are so many programs out there (differnet utilities, anti-virus, etc.) that its hard to tell what exactly could be causing that on YOUR computer. you might have different programs, settings, etc. than i do. right now i have Explorer, Firefox and Chrome (google's new browser) and all three remember my MySpace name but not my password. are you using AOL as your service provider? that could be the reason. i have not had to log into this site.

when you start to type your screen name, does it auto fill it for you? or does do you have to write all of it? i am trying to get more information to see if i can figure out what could be causing the problem.

One last thing, Go to Internet Explorer and from the pull down menus select tools and click on internet options. then select the tab listed content and under the option for auto complete click on the settings button. make sure all the options are checked on.

Default Bandwith problems?

Hello,

I'm experiencing problems downloading Alexa Loren's videos today (even the midres videos stop downloading), Danielle's video page pics get aborted, and even the forum runs exceptionally slow. Other sites seem to work normally.

Is it just my end of the line that has problems, or does anybody else have these problems, too?

I was not having any problems this morning downloading AlexaLoren and Danielle's forum is loading fine. Try resetting your modem. if you can't reset your modem, shut your system down and then unplug the power supply to your modem.

that is one of those cases that you really have to be there to figure it out. but here are a few things that can cause the problem.

* There is a possibility that servers could be having trouble or there was too much traffic. causing things to run slow and reset. i find that the day the updates are released, i have a harder time downloading than waiting a day or two. i can still download them, they just move faster.

* if you were having problems with more than once site then i could guess that it is either you connection or your computer since its only having problems with that site i would guess is one of the reasons listed above.

* you can always restart your computer. although i usually recommend a full shutdown and then start the computer. if there was some time of issue it could have been resolved by this.

Default Does anyone here use Nero to create DVD's???

I'm having a problem. I've, so far, burned two DVD's using Nero-Vision and they've turned out pretty good. I have since tried to burn another, the Danielle/Leslie update, which I had downloaded at 8000kb/sec. Even though they would be compressed to fit on one disc, I still thought the quality might be better. (besides, I'm saving the hi-res updates for when I get a Blu-ray burner and player, that's gonna be sweet!).
For now I can't see even the DVD version because I can't seem to get the damn thing to complete a burn. At some point during the "transcoding streams" portion, I get the dreaded "Nero-vision.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. At which point all I can do is close it and start over. A huge problem since it takes over THREE HOURS to complete the burn. It doesn't occur at the same point either. The first time it happened 25 minutes in, the second time was after it ran for 2.5 hours. What the heck is going on? I disabled Nero Scout because it was slowing my machine to a crawl. Could this have caused my issue? Nero doesn't respond to my e-mails and I was considering upgrading to the full version, but if this one doesn't work, I don't have much confidence in Nero 9 being better.

That was my first guess. I've had that before, too, but this time it was extreme.
Gauging by my problems, Alexa Loren seems to be reeealy popular.

It was just with FTV related sites and on more than one computer, but on the same connection. Hence my question.

With some computers it might even require pulling the power cord, because the network card is still powered for wake on lan.

This morning (we've got 07:30 AM in Germany) the problems seem to have gone.
So either the server load on FTV has gone down, or the daily reset of my DSL line at 04:00 AM solved it.

Thank you for your response. (captnjack, you too.)

To splice movies I use imovie. The audio will not import in the given format, so it must be converted with a program I use called Audacity. It is free, however, the audio will not sound very good, but you can still edit that.
